Red Bull X-Alps 2011 has started!
To the cheers of hundreds of spectators, the 30 participants of Red Bull X-Alps 2011 started into the biggest adventure of their lives yesterday morning. At 11:30, the athletes sprinted from Salzburg’s Mozartplatz to turnpoint 1, the nearby Gaisberg. First to reach the summit was Richard Pethigal (BRA), shortly followed by Michael Gebert (GER), who was the first athlete to take off with his paraglider.
